The Derfelt Senior Center’s food pantry project is right around the corner! “Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard” is happening this Friday, July 22nd. Our community partner opens the pantry quarterly and serves many seniors and families in need in their area, which is Washington and Valley View. There are no requirements for people to access the food pantry, they just have to show up! Each person gets a box of pre-selected food, but they also have a “Choice Table” where people can individually pick items of their choosing to go along with their box.
Donations are still being taken as well, donating any items you may have had sitting in your pantry for a while… canned beans, tomato sauce, tuna fish, ramen noodles, etc. are welcome. They also take laundry items, like deodorant, toothpaste, tissues, as well as cleaning products. They also ask that we spread the word… if you know of ANYONE that would benefit from their food pantry, please tell them they are welcome to attend!
The pantry is open Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Derfelt Senior Center is located by Lorenzi Park: 3343 West Washington Ave 89107, Las Vegas, Nevada
